M&U Golfers help raise £3000 for Martin House Children’s Hospice
Many of the Mitchell & Urwin staff are keen golfers, so when our client Redrow Homes told us about its Yorkshire Golf Day at Sandburn Hall Golf Club on 4 August, we were more than happy to get a team together, particularly as it was in aid of Martin House Children’s Hospice.
Pat Gill (Trainee Contracts Manager), Jason Matthews (Contracts Manager), Ash Thorpe (Site Technician) and Garry Edgar (Site Technician) represented M&U. The day started with bacon sandwiches before playing an 18 hole Stableford competition. Spot prizes were given for the longest drive and closest to the pin. While Jason came second in the longest drive contest, our team sadly weren’t able to clinch a win. They didn’t let that dampen their spirits though.
A BBQ dinner at the 19th hole and a charity raffle closed out the day. Proceeds from the raffle and the participant fees helped to raise £3000 for Martin’s House Children’s Hospice. Well done to our team for their good sportsmanship and congratulations to Redrow for putting on an excellent day that generated a fantastic amount of money for a worthy cause.
